Oh, by the way, this movie is not about the game that goes by the same
name. Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton play meteorologists who go around
chasing twisters in order to study them. Now you've heard the
expression, when pigs fly but in this movie you actually see a cow fly
as it's tossed around by a tornado. That is just one of countless
effects that add realism to the picture. The usually scenario in
disaster films takes place here. You know, the one where you have
your heroes going around warning people about the horrible things that
will soon take place. Twister cost millions to make but made it back
and then some. Being the only one on our list that involves
tornadoes, it at least stands out as an original. The great special
effects didn't hurt either. |
